Swimming at its finest…

The area around the Alpenwelt Karwendel has a lot to offer. Whether mountains or lakes – they are always beautiful and impressive. Discover the diversity of nature and hike through spectacular mountain panoramas or swim in the crystal-clear water of the countless lakes. Or enjoy a relaxing time in one of the nearby baths and saunas.

Grubsee family swimming pool

Just 400 m from the campground, Grubsee lake is a little gem of a swimmer’s paradise. The lake is well-protected between two hills, with its clear, eight-metre-deep water warming up quickly to 22-26° C. Fun and fitness are both equally ensured: A super water slide and two wading pools will keep the kids occupied for hours. Beautiful south-facing sunbathing lawns. Aqua training is offered once a week during the summer season.

Barmsee beach

Idyllic Barmsee lake is only about ½ km from the campground One kilometre long, half a kilometre wide and 55 metres deep, the lake offers a spectacular view of the western Karwendel peaks from the natural beach on its northwest banks. Its water quality has been officially certified as very good.

Geroldsee

Arguably the area’s most beautifully situated mountain lake for swimming. The water temperature is relatively nice, the view of the Karwendel from the north bank breathtaking. To take best advantage of this, a picturesque sunbathing lawn spreads across the south bank (€1). Park in Gerold or the car park on Bundesstrasse.
