Campingplatz Tennsee Startseite I Activities

Leisure and surroundings: The Alpen-Caravanpark Tennsee is an ideal holiday destination.

The Alpen-Caravanpark Tennsee is an ideal starting point for an exciting Upper Bavarian holiday in the high mountains. Located in the triangle between Mittenwald, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Lake Walchensee, the region offers a wide range of cultural, entertainment, and sports activities. In Garmisch, highlights include the Zugspitze, the Alpspitze, Lake Eibsee, the Höllental gorge, the Partnachklamm, the Olympic sports facilities with the new ski jump, and many winter sports slopes. Mittenwald takes pride in its picturesque townscape and its violin-making tradition (museum). The Pfaffenwinkel region invites visitors with its art treasures such as the Wieskirche and Welfen Monastery in Steingaden. Other popular destinations include King Ludwig II’s castles (main image: Linderhof Palace), the famous Ettal Abbey, the Passion Play village of Oberammergau, and the many lakes of Upper Bavaria. Just beyond Mittenwald begins Tyrol with the famous winter sports resort of Seefeld; a few kilometers further lie the Inn Valley, Innsbruck, Timmelsjoch, Zillertal, and much more! For golfers: a 9-hole course is located nearby, and four additional golf courses — some offering taster courses and green fee discounts — can be reached within a 30-minute drive!

Karwendelgebirge Panorama am Camping Tennsee

The old violin-making village of Mittenwald is the centre of the upper Isar valley. The rich history of the town, which lies on the old Roman and trade route from Verona to Augsburg, can be seen in the town houses, which are well worth seeing and are richly decorated with Lüftlmalereien. Let yourself be captured by the picturesque flair and the Bavarian way of life of the “Obermarkt”(now pedestrian zone). Or experience the world of music in the Mittenwald violin making museum with over 200 stringed and plucked instruments. In addition, of course, there is the extensive tourist offer of the attractive holiday resort, which can be reached easily on foot and by free guest bus from Lake Tennsee.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen: The two districts at the foot of Wetterstein, Kramer and Wank are a focal point of tourist activities in Bavaria. The picturesque, historic town centres with their pedestrian zones offer plenty of opportunity to look around, stroll and enjoy. The offers for tourism, culture and sports include many highlights and events throughout the year of international standing, such as the New Year’s Jumping of the Four Hills Tournament, the traditional horn sled race, the Alpine Ski World Cup, the Richard Strauss Festival, the BMW Motorrad Days, Summer Festival Weeks and Cultural Summer. You can view all events on our website under News and plan your stay at the Alpen-Caravanpark Tennsee accordingly.
